Raedecker - Raedecker
On the Internet site of the dutch newspaper, NRC, the sculptor of the Amsterdam national monument, John Raedecker, is called the uncle of the artist Max Raedecker (one of Karel Appel's friends). John's mural paintings (1970) at the Congres Centre of The Hague have been overpainted erroneously.
An extract of this article was published in the weekly edition of NRC of 24-8-1999.
Time lacked to investigate whether the winner of the Prix de Rome 1994, and the Prix John Moores 1999, the artist Michael Raedecker (born 12-04-1963) is related to other members of the Raedecker family.
Last but not least, the book (19ES) mentions an artist Simon Reedeker, (Amsterdam 6-7-1800 - Amsterdam 12-4-1843), an amateur painter of landscapes, who participated at some expositions at Amsterdam 1828-1830. This relation hasn't been investigated eiter.
