de Famars Testas - Geradts
Maria Lucia Louise Geradts started to work as a servant for the widow of the egyptologue and painter Willem de Famars Testas, who lived in the Balistraat in The Hague.
After the widow died, her daughter Marie Madeleine de Famars Testas and Maria Lucia Louise moved to Aalsmeer to start a biological and ideological farm 'avant-la-lettre'.
Maria Lucia Louise and Marie Madeleine had a lesbian relationship for the rest of their lives.
A lot of members of the Geradts family have lived at this farm, for instance, her little nephew Gerardus Geradts, who studied to become a garden-architect, as well as her brother Gerardus Wilhelmus Theodorus Geradts, during his few days-off, together with his other son Laurens.
As it concerned a lesbian relationship, evidences are hard to find, compared to heterosexual relationships, certainly in the pre-war era.
Civil records of the towns of The Hague and Aalsmeer confirm a long lasting relatinship between M.M.L. Geradts and M.M. de Famars Testas, as does the 'Person Card' (Persoonskaart) BS dH 67/252.
