his son Willem Willemsz Buytewech
There are two well-known painters who go by the name of Buytewech:
1) Willem Pieterszoon Buytewech, born in 1585, son of the candle-maker Pieter Jacobsz. Buytewech.
2) Willem Willemsz. Buytewech, son of number 1, baptised in Rotterdam 4-1-1625, died 20/26-5-1670.
The name Buyteweg (or Buytewech) is present in the family, for instance Cornelis Pouwelsz Buyteweg (marriage 23-2-1648 in Berkel), son of Pouwels Cornelisz Buytewech.
There exist no evidences that they are related to the family of painters, but there are some indications:
In 1701 in Berkel, a grandchild of Cornelis Pouwels Buytewech marries a grand-daughter of Aalbert Willemsz van Broeckhuysen. The name van Broeckhuysen isn't unfamiliar in the circles of painters:
In 1662 in The Hague, the painter Dirck Wijntrack marries Sijburgie van Broeckhuysen.(HS360)(HS251)
