She was married to Count Hugo Philipp von Waldbott-Bassenheim (1820-1895) who definitely spent too much money.
He had to sell the ancestral castles of Bassenheim and Burg Pyrmont.
In 1887 the count also had to sell his furnature and library.
Caroline's stunning beauty was widely recognised.
